A final-year student of Government Science and Technical College, Bukuru, in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, Odey Emmanuel, has been sentenced to death by hanging for the murder of one of his teachers, Mr. Job Dashe.

The tragic incident occurred on July 30, 2022, during a routine morning meal at the school.

According to reports, Mr. Dashe, alongside another teacher, was supervising students during breakfast at around 9:30 a.m., when he confronted Emmanuel for allegedly collecting a double portion of food—a violation of the school’s rules.

Eyewitnesses testified that the student reacted aggressively to the reprimand. He reportedly issued public threats, stating, “I shall do it, nobody will stop me,” and “I must hurt this teacher.” Moments later, Emmanuel pulled out a knife and stabbed Mr. Dashe in the chest.

Mr. Dashe was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Following the attack, the student was arrested and arraigned before a court. After a thorough trial, he was found guilty of murder and was subsequently sentenced to death by hanging.
