Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Bako Lalong has awarded a 5-year full scholarship to one of his constituents, Daboer Jesse Denaane, a student of St. Augustine’s College Du, Jos South Local Government who emerged overall best graduand with distinction. Lalong who attended the college graduation ceremony expressed delight on the achievements of Daboer Jesse Denaane for coming top in the school and getting one of the best results in the country at both WAEC and JAMB.
The Senator was particularly happy that Daboer who is from Qua’an-Pan LGA of his Plateau South Senatorial Constituency scored 351 in JAMB in addition to getting distinction in all the subjects he sat for in WAEC.
Senator Lalong while congratulating him announced a scholarship for 5 years with annual grant of 2 million naira in addition to other incentives. He promised to participate in ensuring that Daboer secures admission to study his course of choice, Medicine.
The former Plateau State Governor also commended other graduands and praised the school management and teachers for devoting their time and energy towards moulding the young minds that represent the future of the nation and world at large.Chairman of the occasion and President of the Digital Bridge Institute Mr. David Daser asked the graduands to look towards innovation, job creation and entrepreneurship by applying themselves to all round learning using ICT tools.
He launched the school year book and made a donation on behalf of himself and Senator Lalong. Principal of the school Rev. Fr. Dr. Caius Ferdinand Kakaba said the graduating students have proven themselves to be worthy ambassadors who are ready to face the future and contribute to the society.
He said the school has continued to maintain high standards which continue to take its name to places.Fr. Kakaba informed the gathering that the overall best graduating student Daboer Jesse is also one of the students representing Nigeria at an international competition holding in the UK having qualified in the national competition.
Responding on behalf of the Parents, Managing Director of the North Central Development Commission Dr. Cyril Tsenyil thanked the school management, parents and students for their collaboration towards ensuring that the standards are not only maintained, but elevated.
