JUST IN: Plateau Ranks Lowest in 2025 Fiscal Performance Rankin
Plateau State has emerged as the lowest-ranked state in Nigeria’s 2025 Fiscal Performance Ranking, according to the latest national fiscal assessment report.
The ranking, which evaluates states based on budget implementation, revenue generation, transparency, and fiscal responsibility, places Plateau at the bottom of the list among the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Observers have expressed concern over the development, calling on the state government to improve financial management, enhance internal revenue generation, and ensure accountability in the use of public funds.
The report serves as a wake-up call for stakeholders to strengthen fiscal discipline and ensure that government spending translates into tangible development outcomes for citizens.
