The 2025 edition of The Mentors Guide annual conference was held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Patrick’s Hall, Crispan Hotel in Jos, Plateau State.
Organized by the founding partner and president, Dr. Jemchang Fabong, the event brought together mentors, professionals, distinguished leaders, and young aspiring change-makers from across Nigeria. For Dr. Fabong, the conference was not just a yearly tradition but a moment of deep personal reflection and gratitude.
In his address, he expressed appreciation to the many people who contributed to his growth—teachers who guided him, mentors who believed in his potential, and friends who supported him through challenging seasons. Their collective influence, he noted, shaped the foundation of the person he is today.
During the event, Dr. Fabong announced that twenty-four applicants from Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones had enrolled in the mentorship program under his leadership. Following months of training, assessments, and personal development activities, fourteen candidates successfully completed the program.
They were formally inaugurated at the conference—a milestone marking both accomplishment and the start of greater leadership responsibilities. Dr. Fabong praised their perseverance, discipline, and eagerness to learn.
A major highlight of the gathering was the presentation of awards of honour to individuals whose contributions have impacted generations. The awards were dedicated primarily to Dr. Fabong’s former teachers and other distinguished personalities who have significantly influenced society.
Honourees included H.E. Amb. Fidelis N. Tapgun, KSGG; H.E. Rt. Hon. Senator Simon Bako Lalong, KSGG; Most Rev. Dr. Benjamin Argak Kwashi; Prof. John Wokton Wade, MNI; Prof. Ali Ishaq Shugaba; the late Chief Dr. Rachel M. Adanchin; Chief Maqual George Michael; among others. Dr. Fabong highlighted their roles not only in his personal development but in shaping leaders and uplifting communities.
The conference ended on a note of gratitude and renewed commitment. Participants departed with a heightened appreciation for mentorship, leadership, and the transformative power of guidance.
The 2025 Mentors Guide conference succeeded in celebrating growth, honour, and legacy—an inspiring reminder that those who invest in lives today help shape the future.
