Residents of Garga communities were thrown into panic on Friday night following a deadly attack by suspected bandits that left several local vigilantes and military personnel feared dead.

According to local sources, the armed attackers stormed the communities late in the night, engaging security operatives and members of the local vigilante group in a violent confrontation. During the attack, a number of vigilantes and soldiers reportedly lost their lives while others sustained injuries.

Witnesses said the bandits also broke into shops and carted away food items and other valuables before setting some houses ablaze. The attack occurred shortly after residents had returned home from Jumu’ah Prayer, making the situation even more shocking for the community.

Several homes were reportedly damaged as a result of explosions and gunfire during the raid, forcing many residents to flee for safety.

As of the time of filing this report, security agencies are yet to release an official statement regarding the incident. However, residents have called for urgent intervention by security authorities to prevent further attacks and restore peace in the affected communities.

The incident has heightened concerns about the safety of rural communities and the need for stronger security presence across the area.
