APC NATIONAL CHAIRMAN DONATES TRACTOR, FARMING EQUIPMENT, AND IMPROVED SEEDS TO FARMERS IN PANKSHIN AND KANKE

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, has donated tractors, water pumping systems, solar panels, hand tillers, and improved seeds to farmers across Pankshin and Kanke Local Government Areas of Plateau State as part of efforts to boost agricultural productivity in the region.

During a visit to one of the farming sites in Pankshin, Prof. Yilwatda inspected ongoing farming activities and interacted with farmers to assess their progress. The visit formed part of his commitment to supporting local farmers with modern equipment and resources to improve agricultural output.

Speaking during the visit, the APC National Chairman expressed satisfaction with the dedication of the farmers, stating: “My eyes have seen, my hands have touched, and you have proven beyond reasonable doubt that you are ready for farming.”

As part of fulfilling his pledge to support farmers, Prof. Yilwatda donated 100 units of water pumping systems, including solar panels and pumps, as well as 500 bags of improved rice seeds to be distributed across various communities and farming groups.

In addition, he donated one tractor and two hand tillers to a farmers’ cooperative in the Fyer community to enhance mechanized farming and increase productivity.

The APC National Chairman also announced plans to install two solar-powered water pumping boreholes dedicated to supporting women involved in agriculture across local governments in Plateau State. According to him, the initiative aims to empower women farmers and strengthen their contribution to food production.

Prof. Yilwatda further assured the farmers of continued support through the provision of fertilizers, improved seeds, and financial assistance to help them expand their farming activities.

He emphasized that the current intervention represents only the first phase of a broader agricultural support program, promising that more assistance will be provided to farmers in the future to help them improve their livelihoods and increase food production across the state.
