Federal University of Education, Pankshin (formerly FCE Pankshin), was this morning thrown into a brief state of unrest as Ventures staff (contract staff) staged a protest over the non-payment of three months’ salaries.
The protesters, who have reportedly served the institution on contract for over 10 years, also decried the consistent lack of consideration for permanent employment opportunities whenever vacancies are announced.
In a show of frustration, the staff locked all entrances leading into the school, temporarily disrupting academic and administrative activities.However, the situation has since been brought under control, and normalcy has returned to the campus as the university management stepped in to address the concerns raised.
