An elderly woman has been abducted by suspected armed attackers in Arak village, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, barely two days after her son and another resident were killed during an attack on the community.

The woman, identified as Mrs. Averik Arak, was reportedly taken alongside her granddaughter on Monday night. Her son, Habila Averik, who was the child’s father, was among those who lost their lives during the earlier incident on Saturday.

Sources say the victim was still mourning the loss of her family members when the attackers returned. It was also reported that she was unwell at the time of the abduction.

In related incidents, several residents were reportedly abducted in Kajuru and Kauru Local Government Areas. At Unguwan Sarki Maro in Kajuru LGA, at least 15 villagers, including children, were taken during a night raid.

Similarly, about 16 residents were reportedly abducted in Kadage village, Kauru LGA, while one person lost their life during the incident. Community sources claim that over 100 people from surrounding villages have been abducted between December 2025 and early January 2026.

Residents have expressed concern over what they describe as limited media coverage of the renewed security challenges in the area.

Meanwhile, another attack was reported in Kachia, Southern Kaduna, where four members of a family were said to have lost their lives during an overnight incident near the Federal University of Applied Science. Several other residents reportedly sustained injuries and were taken to nearby medical facilities.

As of the time of this report, there has been no official statement from the Kaduna State Police Command regarding the incidents.
