President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has confirmed the successful rescue of dozens of abducted Nigerians following intensified security operations across the country.
In an official statement, the President revealed that he canceled his planned trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa in order to directly coordinate national security efforts amid rising concerns over recent kidnappings.
According to the President, all 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State, have been rescued, thanks to the coordinated efforts of Nigeria’s security agencies. In addition, he announced that 51 of the students abducted from a Catholic school in Niger State have also been safely recovered.
The President stated that he has been “closely monitoring the security situation nationwide” and receiving continuous updates from frontline commanders.
Reaffirming his commitment to restoring peace and stability across the country, President Tinubu declared:
“Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety — and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people.”
The President concluded by commending the security forces for their bravery and urging citizens to remain calm and vigilant as operations continue.
