Crisis Looms As APC Suspends National Chairman, Ganduje. The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has faced a setback as he was suspended by his ward in Ganduje, Kano State.
This action was taken by his ward in Dawakin Tofa local government area of Kano State on Monday, citing alleged corruption as the reason for his suspension.
Haladu Gwanjo, the legal adviser of the ward, addressed journalists, highlighting that the former Kano Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, is accused of gross misconduct and misappropriation of public funds during his tenure in Kano.
Gwanjo emphasized that the executive members of the ward unanimously passed a vote of no confidence on Ganduje due to his failure to address various corruption allegations, notably the widely circulated video purportedly showing him receiving dollars as a bribe from a contractor.
Gwanjo further explained, “We decided to suspend Dr. Ganduje from the party due to the seriousness of the allegations against him.” He clarified that the suspension is effective from Monday, April 15, 2024, until Ganduje clears himself of the accusations.
