Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a price reduction for its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) product, lowering the price to ₦899.50 per litre in a bid to provide relief for Nigerians during the holiday season.
The announcement, made in a statement on Thursday morning, underscores the refinery’s commitment to easing the financial burden on citizens during the festive period.
According to the Group’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, the price adjustment follows an earlier reduction to ₦970 per litre on November 24.
Chiejina stated, “To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at ₦899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM.
Furthermore, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will have the opportunity to buy another litre on credit, backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.”
The company also introduced a special offer allowing customers to purchase an additional litre of fuel on credit for every litre bought with cash.
The refinery expressed its gratitude to Nigerians for their support during the festive season and reaffirmed its commitment to providing premium quality petroleum products that are competitively priced and environmentally friendly.
Chiejina highlighted that the Dangote Refinery’s operations signify the end of Nigeria’s reliance on substandard and blended imported products, which have posed risks to human health, machinery, and the environment.
With a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, the Dangote Refinery is the largest single-train refinery in the world. It is designed to meet 100% of Nigeria’s refined petroleum product needs, with excess available for export.
