A meeting of all organs of the Kanam Progressive Political Movement (KPPM), alongside the leadership of over 35 affiliated support groups, has resulted in key political endorsements ahead of the 2027 general elections. The meeting was held on March 23, 2026, in Dengi, Kanam Local Government Area.

The gathering, which included the Kanam Progressive Youths (KPY), Elders Caucus, and other stakeholders, reviewed the performance of elected leaders based on the movement’s core principles—good governance, reduction of tribal and religious sentiments, and inclusive consultation in decision-making.

At the end of deliberations, the group endorsed Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Nentawe Yilwatda for National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for Governor of Plateau State.

Also endorsed were Yusuf Adamu Gagdi for Member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency, and Kalamu Idris Dal for Member representing Dengi Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly.

The communiqué noted that positions for the Plateau Central Senatorial seat and the Kantana State Constituency remain open, as no decision has been reached regarding endorsements for those offices.

The group cited President Tinubu’s economic reforms and local government autonomy initiatives as reasons for his endorsement, while commending Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda’s leadership for strengthening the APC and attracting new members nationwide.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang was praised for infrastructure development, particularly rural road projects and improvements in primary healthcare services, while Rt. Hon. Yusuf Gagdi and Hon. Kalamu Dal were commended for their legislative performance, constituency projects, and empowerment initiatives.

KPPM stated that the endorsements reflect the collective will of its members and urged supporters, party faithful, and the general public to rally behind the candidates to ensure victory in the 2027 elections.

The communiqué was signed by Hon. Aliyu Abdullahi Damina, Chairman of Kanam Progressive Youth (KPY), and Hon. Dahiru Ayada, Chairman of the APC Elders Caucus within KPPM.
