The newly-appointed Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has approved the redeployment of several senior officers.
This move is part of the Corps Marshal’s strategic policy aimed at enhancing the FRSC’s operational efficiency and facilitating ease of doing business.
According to a statement released on Wednesday by the Corps Public Education Officer, Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide, the redeployment aligns with the broader objectives of repositioning the FRSC for optimal performance.
Plateau News reports that the recent redeployment within the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has affected three Assistant Corps Marshals, one Corps Commander, and one Deputy Corps Commander.
Assistant Corps Marshal Jonas Agwu, formerly the Public Education Officer, has been redeployed to lead the Administration and Human Resources Department at the FRSC headquarters.
Assistant Corps Marshal Chidi B Nkwonta, previously serving as Commandant at the FRSC Command and Staff College in UDI, Enugu State, will now serve as the Principal Staff Officer to the Corps Marshal.
Assistant Corps Marshal Hafeez Muhammed has been redeployed as the Zonal Commanding Officer for Zone 7.
Additionally, Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide, who was previously in Command Administration and Strategy within the Operations Department at the National Headquarters, has been redeployed, with a new appointment as the Corps Public Education Officer.
Deputy Corps Commander Wasiu Adenekan has been appointed as the Technical Advisor to the Corps Marshal and head of the Corps Information Technology Office.
The Corps Marshal emphasized the importance of steadfast commitment and dedication to duties among the redeployed officers, urging them to align with the FRSC’s vision of enhancing road safety for all motorists. The redeployed officers are expected to assume their new roles immediately.
