Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are gathering in Jos, Plateau State, to deliberate on critical issues shaping both the party’s future and national governance. This high-profile meeting is a chance for party leaders to evaluate their strategy and reinforce their commitment to the Nigerian people.
The meeting will address the outcomes of the recent gubernatorial elections in Edo and Ondo States, where the PDP faced setbacks. These discussions aim to analyze lessons learned and strategize for better performance in future elections.
Bala Mohammed, the Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, opened the session with an inspiring message about the party’s resilience and unity.
“We are here on the Plateau, and Governor Mutfwang has shown us that this state truly welcomes everyone,” Mohammed said. “The PDP remains an indivisible party. Despite minor challenges, we stand united across all levels. Together, we’ll continue to create opportunities for better governance for Nigerians.”
Oyo State Governor and Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Seyi Makinde, echoed Mohammed’s sentiments. He emphasized the governors’ dedication to reforming the PDP and restoring its leadership role in Nigerian politics.
Makinde assured supporters that the PDP remains committed to its founding principles, promising to steer the party toward delivering strong governance and hope for the nation.
The meeting brought together key PDP governors from Zamfara, Oyo, Taraba, Adamawa, Bauchi, and Plateau States. Representatives from Delta and Enugu also participated, while governors from Osun, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Bayelsa were notably absent.

Other notable figures included Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, Chair of the PDP Ministers’ Forum, alongside other influential party members.
