President Tinubu Sends 32 Additional Ambassadorial Nominees to Senate for Confirmation
Abuja, Nigeria — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded a new list of 32 ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for screening and confirmation, just days after submitting an initial batch of three nominees.
In two separate letters addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, President Tinubu requested the expeditious confirmation of 15 career ambassadorial nominees and 17 non-career nominees. The fresh list includes 10 women—four career and six non-career.
Among the non-career ambassadorial nominees are several prominent Nigerians, including:

Reno Omokri (Delta), activist and former presidential media aide
Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, former INEC Chairman
Erelu Angela Adebayo, former Ekiti First Lady
Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, former Governor of Enugu State
Tasiu Musa Maigari, former Speaker, Katsina House of Assembly
Yakubu N. Gambo, former Plateau commissioner and UBEC deputy executive secretary
Prof. Nora Ladi Daduut, former Senator representing Plateau South
Otunba Femi Pedro, former Lagos Deputy Governor
Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation
Barr. Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu (Anambra)
Fatima Florence Ajimobi, former First Lady of Oyo State

According to the State House, the nominees—once confirmed—will be deployed to countries where Nigeria maintains key diplomatic relationships, including China, India, South Korea, Canada, Mexico, the UAE, Qatar, South Africa, Kenya, as well as the UN, UNESCO, and the African Union.
This submission follows last week’s nomination of three senior diplomats: Amb. Ayodele Oke (Oyo), Amb. Amin Mohammed Dalhatu (Jigawa), and Col. Lateef Kayode Are (Rtd.) (Ogun), who are expected to be considered for top postings in the United Kingdom, United States, and France.
President Tinubu also stated that more ambassadorial nominations will follow as Nigeria continues to strengthen its global diplomatic presence.
