Senator Diket Plang Commissions Solar Power System at NTA Jos

In a significant turn of event today the May 27, 2024, Senator Diket Plang, representing the good people of Plateau State Central Zone commissioned a state-of-the-art solar power system at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in Jos which was finance by him.

During the unveiling ceremony, Senator Plang expressed his fulfillment in completing the project, comparing it to some of the happiest moments in his life. And also cited the importance of Media in contemporary world.

In his statement he said “Today is one of the days that I feel fulfilled, Just as when I was announced a winner, the day I got married, when I had my first child, or the day when I had my first grandchild, I was happy. This is also another milestone achievement that I cherish”.

Senator Plang, also emphasized the importance of transitioning to sustainable energy sources highlighting the numerous benefits of solar power, including its environmental friendliness, cost-effectiveness, and reliability, especially in areas with inconsistent electricity supply.

The newly installed solar power system is designed to provide a reliable and uninterrupted power supply to NTA Jos, which has often grappled with power outages that disrupt broadcasting services.

By ensuring a consistent power supply, the solar system will enable the station to operate more efficiently and effectively, thereby improving the quality of information dissemination to the public.

Senator Plang also addressed national issues, praising the federal government’s removal of the oil subsidy as a significant and necessary step toward the Nation development.

As the chairman of the Senate Committee on Employment, Labor, and Productivity, he assured Nigerians of the government’s commitment to improving welfare and wellbeing of Nigeria workers.

The senator commended President Bola Tinubu and the First Lady for their dedication to Nigeria’s progress, expressing his confidence in the government’s vision and efforts.

He praised their commitment to driving the nation forward and reiterated his support for their leadership.

Mrs. Rifkatu Daniel, the Zonal Director of NTA Network Centre Jos, expressed their gratitude on behalf of NTA Jos for Plang’s contribution highlighting the positive impact of the new solar power system on their operations.
