In a major empowerment initiative aimed at boosting economic activities and enhancing the livelihoods of his constituents, the Senator representing Plateau Central, Diket Plang, has distributed equipment worth over ₦700 million across the senatorial district.

The distributed items included agricultural tools, small and large grinding machines, hair dryers for salon businesses, POS machines for financial transactions, water pumping machines for irrigation, pesticides, herbicides, and food items to support families during the holy month of Ramadan.

The initiative targeted farmers, small business owners, artisans, and unemployed youth to enhance productivity and self-reliance in the region.

The empowerment program was conducted across the five local government areas that make up the Plateau Central Senatorial District: Bokkos, Pankshin, Kanke, Kanam, Mangu local Government Area.

Stakeholders from these LGAs commended Senator Plang for his dedication to grassroots development, emphasizing how the distribution of these resources will empower people across different sectors.

Women and youth groups, who formed a significant portion of the beneficiaries, expressed their appreciation, noting that the initiative will provide them with financial independence, business opportunities, and improved agricultural productivity.

Many women entrepreneurs and young business owners praised the senator for prioritizing economic empowerment, stating that these resources will enable them to sustain their families and contribute to community development.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the former President of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Prof. Pamdam Yamsat, former local government chairmen, and representatives from each of the LGAs.

Their presence underscored the significance of the initiative, with many of them commending Senator Plang’s continuous efforts to uplift the people of Plateau Central through strategic economic interventions.
