Kanke Local Government Council in partnership with TASTE, a Non Governmental Organization, is training selected youth across the Local Government Area, to serve as Community First Responders for Boreholes Maintenance & Repairs.

This is in response to the alarming number of moribund water infrastructure in the Local Government Area – Recall, government has just started overhauling the over 150 broken boreholes across the 18 electoral wards.

The selected participants will therefore, be armed with the necessary skills to attend to basic maintenance & future repairs of these needed infrastructures.

The Executive Chairman, had observed that the most sustainable means to maintain the hundreds of boreholes in Kanke, is to skill up, at least one person in every community on maintenance & basic repairs of the boreholes.

Hence, one of the many sustainable interventions in the water sub-sector, that will provide safe drinking water to the population of Kanke LGA.
