You Have Put Your Personal Interest Above Nigeria – Atiku Blasts President Tinubu

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, has leveled accusations against President Bola Tinubu, alleging that Tinubu prioritizes personal interests over the nation’s welfare, opting for propaganda instead of implementing policies to foster investment.

In a statement conveyed through his media aide, Paul Ibe, Atiku criticized Tinubu for allegedly neglecting national interests while focusing on advancing personal and familial agendas.

Atiku Abubakar highlighted concerns regarding the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, specifically addressing the involvement of President Tinubu’s son on the board of the company overseeing the project, which he deemed a conflict of interest.

He also criticized the lack of compensation for the owners of Landmark Beach, describing it as a deterrent for potential investors in Nigeria.

Expressing his advice to Tinubu and his economic team, Atiku emphasized the importance of focusing on improving the ease of doing business in the country rather than engaging in propaganda.

He criticized the handling of projects and policies, such as the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway, which he claimed were awarded without competitive bidding and lacked proper coordination and transparency.

Atiku further cited instances of poorly implemented policies and mismanagement, such as the exchange rate unification policy and the handling of petrol scarcity, which he attributed to the Tinubu administration’s lack of coordination and transparency.

He warned that such actions could deter foreign investments and negatively impact Nigeria’s economy.
