𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗮𝘂 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗨𝗽 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗲 𝗩𝗜𝗢 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁

The Plateau State Government has inaugurated an independent investigative committee to probe widespread allegations of misconduct involving officials of the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO).

The move follows growing public complaints bordering on harassment, intimidation, and alleged overzealous enforcement of traffic regulations by some VIO personnel across the state.

According to government sources, the committee has been mandated to thoroughly investigate the claims, engage affected members of the public, and recommend appropriate actions where necessary. The panel is also expected to review operational procedures and suggest reforms to ensure professionalism, accountability, and respect for citizens’ rights.

Residents and civil society groups have welcomed the development, describing it as a step toward restoring public confidence and strengthening transparency within traffic enforcement operations.

The state government reiterated its commitment to upholding discipline within its agencies while ensuring that enforcement of laws is carried out with fairness, dignity, and in line with due process.

The committee is expected to submit its findings and recommendations within a stipulated timeframe.
