APC Raises Alarm Over Alleged Plot to Attack National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, in Gindiri
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Plateau State Chapter, has uncovered an alleged plot to attack the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, during the Gindiri Old Students Reunion Service scheduled to hold in Gindiri on Saturday, November 2, 2025.
In a statement signed by the Acting Publicity Secretary, Shittu Bamaiyi, and issued from the party’s state secretariat, Kalwa House, Yakubu Gowon Way, Jos, the APC claimed that sponsors of the planned attack are expected to hold a meeting in Jos to finalize arrangements for the act.
According to the statement, the alleged plan involves mobilizing three buses per ward across the 20 electoral wards of Mangu Local Government Area, to transport thugs to the Gindiri Missionary Compound, venue of the reunion event, with the aim of embarrassing Dr. Yilwatda and his entourage.
The statement further alleged that some of the attackers would be stationed at the Gindiri roundabout, where they are expected to chant “Ba ma so, Ba ma so” upon the National Chairman’s arrival, while the press would reportedly be mobilized to create the impression that Plateau residents are opposed to his leadership.
The party, while condemning the development, described it as a “wicked and desperate attempt to tarnish the image of a respected leader”, and called on security agencies to immediately investigate and prevent any possible breakdown of law and order.
The APC also appealed to its members and supporters across the state to remain calm, law-abiding, and committed to peaceful coexistence, regardless of provocation.
