The 2025 edition of the Made in Jos Plateau Carnival came to a colourful close on Friday, December 6, after five days of exhibitions, entertainment, and cultural display at the Solomon Lar Amusement Park.
The event, which began on December 2, drew in entrepreneurs from across Plateau State who showcased locally made products ranging from crafts to fashion, food items, and other innovative creations. Residents and visitors enthusiastically patronised the exhibitors, creating a vibrant marketplace atmosphere throughout the carnival.
During the closing ceremony, the Director-General of PLASMIDA, Hon. Bomkam Ali Wuyep — represented by the Director of Administration and Finance, Mr. Jackse Le’an — expressed appreciation to all partners and participants who contributed to the success of the maiden edition. Several awards were presented to individuals and institutions that supported the MSMEs exhibition.
Recipients included the Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Town Planning, Barr. Gai Peter Nyam; Commissioner for Information and Communication, Rt. Hon. Joyce Lohya, mni; the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, represented by his Chief Protocol, Mr. Donald Cyril; the Commissioner for Water Resources, Bashir Lawandi Dati; and Nkechi Blessing, who represented FCMB. The Rector of Plateau State Polytechnic and renowned entrepreneur, Kefas Ropshik (Kefiano), was also honoured.
In his closing remarks, the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Mr. Le’an Jackse, thanked the public for their tremendous support from the opening day to the final moments of the carnival.
He wished everyone safe travels and assured the audience that the Made in Jos Carnival would become an annual exhibition aimed at promoting local businesses and strengthening the Plateau creative economy.
