President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed relief and satisfaction with the recent successful military operations against security threats in the north-west region of Nigeria.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Saturday, Tinubu acknowledged that these successes demonstrate the ability of the Nigerian military to ensure the peace and security of the nation.
The operations, conducted by troops of Operation Hadarin Daji, resulted in the neutralization of a notorious bandit leader, Halilu Sububu, who had been terrorizing parts of Zamfara, Sokoto, and other regions in north-western Nigeria.
Additionally, the troops killed another terrorist, Sani Wala Burki, in a joint operation in Katsina, and raided a terrorist camp in Kaduna, where 13 kidnapped students were rescued.
These military victories follow President Tinubu’s directive for the service chiefs to relocate to the affected zone until normalcy is fully restored.
Tinubu praised the military, intelligence agencies, and troops for their dedication, collaboration, and bravery, leading to these significant successes.
He also encouraged them to maintain their efforts until all threats to national security are permanently eradicated.
The President reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the security forces in their mission to keep Nigeria safe.
