President Tinubu Seeks Senate Confirmation for Police Service Commission and Code of Conduct Bureau Nominees

President Bola Tinubu has formally requested the Senate to confirm the appointments of nominees for key federal bodies, emphasizing the importance of their roles in governance and administration. 

Police Service Commission Nominees

The nominees for membership in the Police Service Commission (PSC) are: 

1. Buba Ringim (Retired DIG)

2. Justice Adamu Paul Galumje (Rtd., JSC)

3. Christine Ladi Dabup 

4. Abdulfatah Muhammed

The President’s letter, read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during plenary, referred to Section 154(1) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) as the legal basis for the appointments. Tinubu expressed hope for swift Senate approval to facilitate the commission’s work.

Code of Conduct Bureau Nominees 

For the Governing Board of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), the President nominated: 

1. Fatai Ibikunle 

2. Kennedy Ikpeme

3. Justice Ibrahim Buba 

In his communication, Tinubu cited the constitutional provisions under Section 154(1) and Paragraph 1(a) and (b) of Part 1 to the Third Schedule as grounds for the appointments. 

The Senate is expected to deliberate on the nominees and conduct screening exercises.
