Prof. Noel Nen’man-Ndalbeh Wannang is a highly distinguished Nigerian academic, researcher, and public health expert with a long and impactful career in pharmaceutical sciences and higher education. Born in Vel, Pankshin, Plateau State, he has risen to national and international prominence through his work in research, clinical pharmacy, and academic leadership.
Prof. Wannang holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Jos, a Master’s in Pharmacology from Uthmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He also earned an M.Sc in Biochemistry from Bayero University, Kano, and holds LLB and BL degrees in law. He has a postgraduate diploma in education and a leadership certificate from the University of Washington.
He is a Fellow of multiple professional bodies, including the West African Society of Pharmacology, the Nigerian Academy of Pharmacy, and the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria.
A prolific scholar and researcher, Prof. Wannang has published widely and contributed to over 100 academic papers. He has held significant academic and administrative positions, including Head of Department, Deputy Dean, Director of General Studies, and Lead Researcher in Toxicology and Clinical Pharmacy at institutions such as the University of Jos.
He has also served in executive roles within professional associations, including as Secretary General and later Chairman within the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists (WAPCP).
His leadership in research extends into public health initiatives; he led the Plateau State Research Team on COVID-19, contributing to locally developed treatment regimens and antiviral research. His work has earned several national and international awards.
