The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the immediate posting of newly promoted Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) to oversee critical Police Zonal Commands and the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Lagos.
According to a statement by Police Public Relations Officer Muyiwa Adejobi, the new postings include:
- AIG Suleiman M. Yusuf to Zone 9, Umuahia
- AIG Ahmed Ammani to Zone 1, Kano
- AIG Zachariah Fera to Zone 4, Makurdi
- AIG Augustina N. Ogbodo to FCID Annex, Lagos
These appointments follow the retirement of several AIGs and the promotion of DIG Ari Muhammed Ali, formerly AIG of Zone 1, to Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations at Force Headquarters in Abuja.
IGP Egbetokun emphasized the importance of diligence, strict supervision, and adherence to professional policing standards. He urged the newly posted officers to embrace the ongoing police reform agenda and uphold ethical and professional conduct.
“The IGP further charges the officers to checkmate all forms of misconduct and ensure officers exhibit peak professionalism, aiding the progress of the Nigeria Police Force and the growth of the country in general,” the statement added.
These appointments reflect the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to enhance efficiency, professionalism, and reform-driven policing across the country.
